Comments: Just to let you know that "Pima County" was towed from Philadelphia to Smiths Dock Company in the River Tyne England in 1965. She was then converted to a Ro/Ro vehicle Ferry and re-named "Baltic Ferry" by the Atlantic Steam Navigation Co.Ltd of London carrying around 45 Trucks. She operated on service from Preston in Lancashire to Larne in Northern Island until 1968 when she was sold. I was her Captain for a short period (now long retired)

Comments: Hello,

I am writing in regards to my Dad who had served on LST-1081 during the later part of WW2. He was an Ensign-received his War Time Commission from his days on the USS Denver (CL-58) when she got torpedoed. Is there any Annual Reunions of the LST-1081? My Dad passed away in July 2002, but I'd like to know more about his time on this LST. Any other WW2 Veterans on this site who served during the same time as my Dad? Would like to hear from you.

Hayden (USNB-NR)
