Comments: I served on the USS Leo starting in 1951 until we decommissioned her in '54, then went on the Breckenridge after Korea transporting troops & supplies. Any reunions or anyone out there who remembers me, email. Big John Granger
The ash tray above would have been purchased in the ship store. We hauled amo most of the time--went through typhoons, tital waves, and lost some dear friends....

Comments: Better than 10 years ago, a friend found an ashtray, at a Goodwill store. He gave it to me, as he knew I collected Militaria, especially that of the Marine Corps and Navy. It is small, approx. 5.5 X 4.5, white porcelin, with USS LEO, AKA 60, JAPAN, 1951, inscribed in gold-lief along all 4 edges. Would very much appreciate any history any one may have of the ship, the cruise this ashtray may have come from, was it something bought there as a souvenier? Thanks.
