Comments: My Grandfather was a crewman on board the USS Laffey, but unfortunately I do not remember what the number of the ship was. His name was Thomas Barto, and he was a veteran of the korean war. I do remember being told that he was on the ship for the longest ship to shore battle of the war. It would mean a lot to me to find out which ship he was on and if anyone remembers serving with him. Thanks a lot.

I looked under Navy ships for The USS Laffey, which I believe was a
destroyer. Why is it not listed? My father served on that ship around
1950-51 or so. I'd like very much to contact anyone that may have
served with him around that time. Any suggestions?
thanks very much,
Donald Forsha
