Comments: The USS JARVIS DD 799 was Sold to Spain, November 3, 1960 and became the Alcala Galiano D24, on December 15, 1988 it was broken up for scrap. What a sad fate for a ship with so much history.

Comments: I am looking for the man who had an appendectomy on the USS Jarvis--it was the first of its kind to be performed on a Destroyer. My father was the doctor for the group. I don't know his dates of service.

Comments: Looking for my dads Navy Buddies. Aldon E. Olson was my father past 23/12/1996 Service Dates 25/10/1950 to 18/8/1954. Served on USS Jarvis DD-799 From what I can gather surfing on the net. The USS Jarvis is having a reunion Oct. 2002 in Balitmore, Maryland the 17th and 18th. I don't know the place but you may contact Bill Lamb at LAMMYB@aol.com for information.

The USS JARVIS DD-799 was assigned to the
Destroyer Divison 262 & joined Task Force (77) on July 3, 1952.
We served with the USS BREMERTON (CA-130) ,USS BARTON (DD-722)
