Comments: like to hear from some of the guys.Philip Young & I met at little creek va back in the 60's we were both chiefs in the reserve on two weeks active duty. Went to Ray Sheogi's home in Honolulu other than that the only one that I've had contact with is Dallas McLean from Flint, MI who I haven't seen in 30 years.

Comments: Thanks to all who responded to my plea for photos of the Hooper Island. I have enough detail to proceed and have begun work on the model. It will be a monumental task but one, I think, that will be worthwhile.

For all you folks inquiring about the ship's history, I found a good summary on the following website: http://www.hazegry.org/danfs/auxil/arg17.htm

Of course no one knew what was going on, but at first we were in the Tonkin gulf, and days later we noticed the weather was getting cooler, and finaly cold...Then one day in the P.O.D. IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT WE WERE INVOLVED WITH SOME KIND OF SECRET MISSION..we recieved ribbons for the mission on arrival at Long Beach,Ca..
