Comments: like to hear from some of the guys.Philip Young & I met at little creek va back in the 60's we were both chiefs in the reserve on two weeks active duty. Went to Ray Sheogi's home in Honolulu other than that the only one that I've had contact with is Dallas McLean from Flint, MI who I haven't seen in 30 years.

Comments: I am searching for an old buddy by the name of James [Jim] Pritchard,MR2, served aboard the Hooper Island from about Dec. 1957 on. He was a former shipmate on the Hector AR-7. Comments: I served on the Hoop from 1956 through March 1959 worked with. Geo.Cook, Alan Hains, Wayne Burnet, Jack Axtens, Ken Stevens, Cheavers, Gifford EM2 Zane Moot was our Chief. We cruised to Eniwetok in the Marshal Islands in 1958, On Operation Hard Tack. In 1959 Hooper Island received orders to Decommission and the Crew was to transfer to USS Klondike to be recommissioned. I do have a picture of the Hoop but it will be some months before I can get to them.

Comments: I served aboard the Navasota during the Viet nam conflict, however we were involved in a KOREAN adventure during that time. Of course no one knew what was going on, but at first we were in the Tonkin gulf, and days later we noticed the weather was getting cooler, and finaly cold...Then one day in the P.O.D. IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT WE WERE INVOLVED WITH SOME KIND OF SECRET MISSION..we recieved ribbons for the mission on arrival at Long Beach,Ca..
