Comments: We assisted the USS Donner when she hole in her keel. We helped get her back to Brooklyn. We also assisted the USS Latimer.

Keywords: Mike Subocz - Third Class Gunners Mate, Jim Murray - Third Class Gunners Mate. We were called "Krachteville's Crazy Crusaders". We used to fly the Flag by the same name at sea and take it down when we got near port

Comments: I served aboard HOIST from '79 to 81 as Executive Officer. I made 2 Med crusies and 2 trips to the carib. The sailors on HOIST were some of the best I have served with. They were a hard working group in spite of any adversity that arose; of course this was standard of the men in the Salvage Navy.

Comments: Looking for those aboard the USS PCS 1387 stationed in Key West ,Fl. around 1952-1954. We have had 6 reunions and can't seem to find the rest of the guys. So far we have had about 16 guys and wives and great times. If you were aboard, contact me so we can get together with the rest of the guys. I know you are out there and we want to swop sea stories.

Comments: Was on board from '51 to about 9/52. Transferred after making RD3. Lt. Shahan wa s CO and Ltjg Marsh was EO.Rember a lot of names and was just wondering if they are still out there.
We went to Thule, Greenland and help set up the early warning Dewline. Crossed the Artic Circle and we rec'd Blue Nose Certiifcates.Biggerstaff was CWo.Rember Lapine,Autz,Cohan,porter the cook,Sm
ith,Barnhardt. Jackson and a few others.Will check this site later to see if anyone was aboard at this time.
