Comments: My dad recently passed away March 21,2008 and is buried at the DFW National Cemetery. I would just like to hear more stories about him, or his unit. Thank you.
Keywords: Harry Dale Barlow served on the USS Helena CA-75-1952-1956. He is my father, and I am interested in sharing photos I have of him, and finding out stories from when he was in the Navy. He's told some, but I thought it might be interesting to hear more.

Comments: My dad passed away on March 21, 2008. He is buried at DFW National Cemetary, Lane A; on March 27, 2008. He passed away at the Dallas VA Medical Center after a lengthy battle with Congestive Heart Failure.

Comments: my father served on the uss helena ca-75. I beleive it was in the late 50's early 60's. He was a quiet man and didn't tell us much about his time in the war, but when he did speak of it, he held his head up high and he spoke just a bit louder then usual. We could tell he was very proud to have served on her with his buddies. His name was KENNETH WAYNE HARRIS (Buddy). And we're all proud of him.

Comments: Shipmates...I know you are somewhere in our beautiful USA..Lets hear from you...I made many friends during my tour on the Queen,and probably reenlisted or separated you during those years on board..crossed the equator at l51degrees 14minutes East in route to Sydney and Melbourne,Australia..Wow! Comments: Expecting to hear from some of you!!! I made four (4) trips to Korea aboard the Helena.
Keywords: Went aboard Helena on July 5, 1950 at Long Beach, CA. Straight from boot camp Company 052 in San Diego, CA. Two of us was assigned to the 4th Division, John L. Byrd and I. Later, I transferred to Gunnery Office as Yeoman. Left ship in 1952 to attend Class "A" Yeoman School but returned to ship after completing school. Surely, there is still some of you guys that I was with still living. Would like to hear from any of you with by e-mail or snail mail.
