Measures about 12 inches by about 18 inches, solid brass. I am going to put it on Ebay but I though someone that was on the ship might appreciate it more. He was there when she was commissioned. Seems a captain went overboard at one time. He's 81 now. His nickname was "Two Bottles" because he couldn't hold his beer. Does anyone remember him? Also a replenishment ship, #62, cruiser and another DD in photo waiting their turn alongside. I wish to know more about his experiences on board as he will not discuss most of it. Thank you for providing this site as a way for all of us to communicate with each other and discover more about America's Forgotten War. It's not forgotten to me and I am very proud of my dad and tell everyone about his service in Korea. Keywords: My father was in Korea and was awarded the Purple Heart while on duty in the Navy. He was on board the USS Hawkins a destroyer that also traveled with the Fiske and the Kyne.
