He worked in the engine room and has recently been diagnosis with Mesothelioma, a lung cancer cased by asbestos exposure. Hailey was homeported Newport, RI. We plane guarded in Pensacola, in Boston Naval Yards Summer 1956, Gitmo shakedown cruise and Med cruise summer,1957. We went thru the Suez Canal summer, 1957 and operated in Red Sea for a month. Had liberty in Aden, Aden which I believe is called Dubai now.
