Comments: My father served aboard the USS George Clymer from 1947 -1949 according to one of his DD Form 214's. I am in the process of recuperating his military history so that I can honor my mother by capturing and framing our retirements together. Keywords: I served aboard the George Clymer from 10/1951 until 9/1954 as a Radioman, ultimately achieving the rank of RM2 shortly after leaving the Clymer for a very short duty tour aboard the LSM268. Comments: I was a seaman until O'Reilly jumped ship and they promoted me to signalman. Yes Holman, I remember the crazy commodore and his flag, but I don't remember his name either. Looking for shipmate's of my father

Comments: My father, Joe H. Saunders (died in '96) of NC served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1951. He served aboard the USS George Clymer and the USS Gen. John Pope. Does anyone have any information that would help me regarding those 2 ship's activities and does anyone remember my father? I'm betting someone lost some money to him in a card game! Comments: My dad served on the Clymer, years served i'm not too sure of. He passed away Aug. 28, 2003. I'm the youngest among three. Any info, rememberance of my father would be greatly appreciated. From what little he told me was that he was a cook. Although I remember seeing a news clipping that his mother had cut out, it was something to do about special ops training on the island of Saipan. What ever it was he did it lies with him.
