Remember when we holed up and played classical music over the ships loud speakers for half an hour instead of country western? Depth charging an enemy contact? The typhoon of Fall of 53 ?

Comments: I would like to hear from anybody from the erben during 51-54. I remember the friendly fire, I especially remember Rooster! He cause us alot of work scrubbing down the sut from the gun mounts. I also remember dry dock, and we never got to come back with the rest of the division, because our screws were out of balance.

Comments: Would like to get the address of Mark Hokeson who used to live in Renton, Washington.
Keywords: Nickname "Red". Was there when we ran aground in SOCA Churi, and when the carrier plane took off our radar mast. Shipmates were Mark Hokeson, Don Ellison. Porch and Riddick (Ship Servicemen), Chief Electricians Mate Foley, Captain Taylor was relieved by Captain Kermode. Gunnery Officer MCDowell, Repair Officer was Welsh. I served aboard the Erben from the time she was recommissioned at Long Beach, Calif 'til July of 1952. Does anyone remember when we were in dry-dock in Japan, leave the ship and climb up the hill to the house on top? Does anyone remember when we did the 'Friendly Fire' on the So. Korean Patrol Boat? Or when we rescued the So. Korean in a rowboat who was escaping the 'Reds'?

Comments: I stood watch in the fwd. eng. rm. Evaporaters. 4 on 12 off. Best duty onboard ship. Producing 300 Gals per hour led to resticted water hours. Chief Eng, Officer Kreyeski came up with a solution which ended the water hours. Adding corn starch and boiler compound to the 1st. and 2nd efect tubes, brought the production of fresh water up to "600" Gals. per hr. That made a happy crew aboard the Mighty "E"m
