Comments: I was also on the USS Eldorado's 59-60 Westpac cruise while attached to TACRON 13. I see where Mr. Schultz wrote a long article about that cruise. Would love to contact Mr. Schultz and share memories.

Comments: My dad was an electrician on the Eldarodo during WWII. Are there any survivors that might remember him? I would love to meet them. My dad's name was Edward G. Davis, Jr. He went by the name of Glen.

Seawater spilling into the mess hall while we tried to eat dinner - even the Warrant Officers were wearing life jackets - just in case !!!!! - Made a memorable "good will" tour of Japan - Admiral on board - - visiting Beppu/Shimoneseki Straits, etc.

Eldorado 's Ship Company Reunion

Comments: Does anyone remember that storm? The distillery broke down and we had to drink salty water for days. A memorable trip. January,1953, underway for Yokosuka, Japan. Does the Eldorado have a ship's company reunion? I remember 1st. div., shipmates, Sterling BM1. Lathum, sn., McGovern, sn., and williams, sn.

1954 - 1958

Comments: Was aboard the Eldorado from Dec 1954 through January of 1958. Made the cruse from San Diego to Keelung Formosa in 1955 as a Radioman. Our trip included stops in Hong Kong, Japan and Pearl. Pt. Barrow Alaska was on our list for 1956 and 1957. Went up the last of March or first of April and spent two or three months each time. Any one else remember those trips?

Comments: I served on the USS El Dorado LCC-11 1968-1969. Am looking for Brian Moon, Lester Wheeler,Danny Adams, and Kevin Dillon. Also looking for where I can purchase a cap with the ship.
