Comments: Recently made contact with Vilas MachMueller He has refreshed my memory as to many personel and activities.

Does any one remember the deployment of entire complement of Africian American Army troops?

I beleive it was at Inchon the first invasion!. The working party for supplies that we had to take an equal amount of bad fruit and veggies to get the good stuff and that we discarded before we returned to the ship.

Leaving Yokohoma with out written orders? Getting them by light signal, was it Captain Winters a Submarineer Mind is wandering.

Would like to hear from any one.

Comments: My name is Richard ("Dick") Krol, MR 3, "A" division, Mine Squadron 3 aboard USS Comstock, LSD-19 during the Korean conflict.

I certainly remember Capt. Goyette and our Good Sam Supermarket. Capt. Goyettte's volunteering us for an extra tour denied us our R&R in Sasebo, Japan. I also remember transporting the English commandos on a raid... where? South of Wonson?

But most of all, I remember the great guys I served with, in particular: "A" Division: J.F. Hansen, MR2 J.Stotts, END3 L.C. Aten, END 3 W.H. Misch, MR 3

"B" Division: C.Fisher, BT3 V.E. MacMuller, FN W.L. Kennedy

"E" Division R.D. Stafford, IC3 J.R. Sutton, ET3 E.H. Kelley, EM2 R.H. Thomson, ETSN

"M" Division W.L. Jones, MM3 V.L. Jackson, MM3 L.W. Wilson, FN P.G. Kronich, MMLFN S.J. Szymanski, FN E.C. Johnson, MMFN

Would love to hear from any of you guys or others whom I missed. Please write: dk8587@juno.com I live in Baldwin, Long Island, N.Y. Would love to attend the reunion!
