I was a QM2 and would be part of a five man crew to take the LSU to Panama. This was one of two LSU's to be sold (give) to the Panamain Govt. While steaming out of San Diego we lost two engines and the other LSU lost one. The Chickasha was sent out to take us in tow. We were towed to the Canal Zone which took about a month at 5 knots and rode back to San Diego aboard the Chickasha which only took ten days. I found the crew to be very occomadating and the food was great. Keywords: |
