Tour of duty on the Moose

Comments: My tour of duty on the CADMUS was from 1/59 thru 10/61 Worked in the Capt's office & Chaplains office X DIV. Worked with Chief Ford Philips, Chief Lackey, Bob Brown, Tudor,Dav Gschwend, Craig, Best Liberty was in Kinston Jamaica.

Electronics Shop

Comments: Remember Scheduled 3 weeks of War games but due to a Water crisis at Gitmo we were called on to do repairs to their Water plant for most of that time..We wound up spending only 3 days in WAR GAMES which was interesting and More than enough as far as crew was concerned..

Also remember scrounging up parts in Boston Naval Yard when we were there for Refitting.

Comments: I went abord the ship untill my electrician mate school started, I was put in the IC shop, the IC Chief had my school change to IC witch was the best thing that that could have happend. I wish I know what his name was. So I could thank him.

Comments: Prowed to serve on the USS CADMUS 1957-1960. I was in the R2 division and assigned to the boiler repair shop.People I remember, James Westbrook, Al Stevens, Lou Domino, Dale Coker, RC SALLY, Ronnie Workman, William Lambert, Jack Ruby, ?? Miller, and a guy we called Tex but don't remember his name but he was from Longview texas.I was only a kid then, 17 when I joined the Navy. If any of you guys read this I would sure like to hear from you.

Convex II May 1951

Comments: A bunch of us went TAD to the USS Pawcatuck (AO-108) for fleet execises in the North Atlantic. We stopped off at Argentia for a day, but spent most of the time in the fog. Does anyone remember?
