Played on the "E" Division basketball team and softball team. Served watches in the boiler room with MM's Art Zamisch and Ed Walton. I played trumpet in a "pick up" band we had on board. While I was on board we had a Memorial Service for a sailor who got killed in an accident and I played taps on my trumpet. I have fond memories of my time on board the Cadmus. Transfered to Boston Reserve Fleet, June 1955,helped put into commission for the Korean Navy the USS Muir DE-770 and USS Sutton DE771. They were towed to Boston from Mothball fleet in Florida.
