My Dad took some pictures of some of the wound guys being attended by corpsman. My Dads name was Raymond Evors he was a BM3 think he was in 2nd division. He died in 2007. The Navy was good too my dad he used the GI Bill and went to college and was very successful in life. Not bad for the son of a South Georgia Sharecropper. Keywords: USS Brinkley Bass |

| CHARLIE PARKER wrote on February 18, 2004 City and State: Unit: Service or Relationship: NAVY VETERAN - KOREA Comments: I was aboard the Bass when she was hit in Wansan harbor Korea (don't know the date (52???)). She was direct hit on torpedo deck. Several members standing around me were injured pretty bad. I don't remember any names. One member had a severe foot/leg injury. I helped a corpman named "Ski" take the wounded to the 2nd Div latrine area and administered 1st aid. I've wondered many times who they were and their current status. 52years ago is a long time. There was a Chief torpedoman Miller aboard at the time and a Chief Boatswain Boyle. Would like to hear from anyone who remembers this incident. I was a 17yr old BMSN at that time working in the Chiefs mess. Thank you. Keywords: 1952-1954 shipmates, 1st Div, Deck force crew members or Gunnery personnel in 1st Div. |
