He served in the Navy, I'm guessing, right out of high school as I have his senior year book dated class of 1951. in it was a picture of some men standing around a life line with "USS Bremerton" on it. His headstone also has "Korea" on it. Since his time in the Navy was before my grandma knew him, we know little of it and have only the one picture. I am looking for any picture or information I can get on his time in the service as I would like to memorialize the period, not only for myself, but also for my children( his great grandchildren). His name was Charles E.(not sure yet about his full middle name) Williams. When I was young everyone called him Sonny but I'm not sure if he would have gone by Sonny at that time. I have his "Domain of the Golden Dragon" card that was issued on May 1, 1952 from the USS Bremerton CA-130. I remember him talking about being in the Korean war and if his civilian career followed his Navy service then I believe he would have been a Boiler Technician, but I can't be certain. His name was Eldridge O. Mobley and all of his friends just called him Dick. If anyone served with him or has a cruise book from the '52 Korean War Deployment that they may be able to scan a picture, or has any other information about where I can go to get more info on the Bremerton's crew and whatnot I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Claude is still living and getting around great and will be 73 years old in Sept. I, his son, have made arrangements to take him to the reunion that will be going on in Charleston in September.
