MOORE wrote on January 10, 2012 City and State: Unit: Service or Relationship: OTHER Comments: On Oct.7,1952, a F4U-4 aircraft Bu.No.96770 of Squadron VF-193 off of the aircraft carrier USS Princeton-CVA-37, was shot down by an enemy MiG-15 aircraft,and ditched in Hungnam Harbor.The pilot, Ens.John R.Shaughnessy was rescued by the USS Boyd-DD- 544. He was in the Navy and the only real thing I know is that in 1953 there is a picture of a ship with a hull #753. Even on his shirt I cannot tell the ship name. I would appreciate any help with this.
