Was i in for a surprise I did not know that the crew could react as fast as they did . I am the son of Eugene Duke. He has told me about the shipboard fire on the Boxer, and many stories of aircraft ditching -- or coming back shot up. He fought the fire on the Flight Deck and the Hanger Deck.

If you are from the V-1 Division or worked with him on the flight deck, please contact me, and I will forward any messages I receive. He lives in California.
