Comments: My grandfather, Merle Mccalips (red) served on the Borie during WWII and was onboard when it was hit by a kamakazie on 8/9. I have so many memories of attending reunions with him throughout the country for the Borie every August. I miss him deeply and he passed away on 5/27/1996. I believe his last reunion was in Hanover, PA.

Comments: Do not know if I am filling this out correctly. Contact me if you need more information. Was director of Naval Science at the NJROTC Unit of Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg after retirement from 6- 1976 to 6-1998. No present job ! Am 74.
