Comments: I know our Korean vets are leaving this world at an alarming rate these days. I was wondering if anyone on the bulletin board might remember my father, Lt.CDR John J. O'Sullivan (pilot). He was in Attack Squadron VA-923. The squad C.O. was Commander Herb Wiley. I've been going through some old pictures and have many I would share, if a family member would contact me. Among those photographed include Jim Savage, Bill Conboy, Charlie Badowitz, Dee Radd, Jim Dagan, Ed Whelan,Harold Reutabough and Robbie Renard. I believe Jim Savage was KIA. I know that Cmdr. Wiley has passed away along with Robbie Renard and Dee Radd. Anyone with any stories or connections, feel free to contact me.

Where in the Western Pacific did this take place and why were these ships in that area? I would appreciate this information as a friend is trying to get proof that he was in waters which would make him eligible to join the Veterans of Foriegn Wars. There is no information on his DD214. Comments: I just saw a request to locate "the original" USS BHR. Sorry, she sank in the British North Sea on Sept. 23, 1779, after defeating the HMS Serapis.
Captain John Paul Jones was her commander, he transferred his flag and crew to the Serapis.
I am glad to see her good name live on.

I'm just curious as to why the "Gray Ghoast" isn't listed as being
in the Korean conflict? Outstanding record fighting in three wars.WWII,
Korea, and Vietnam. The only carrier to do so! She may be scrap now
but in her days, she was a mighty sight to see. Another BHR will be
launched this summer...or at least christened.
Thanks,
Dick Graham

Hello,
My Father has a 1950 year book for the cva-31. He was on cva-21 Boxer
and has become very involved with his ship mates. He would like to offer
this book to someone who would enjoy having it. Either re-mail me or
you can call him direct.
