Comments: I am trying to learn what submarine(s) my late father served on. His name was Bernard ("Bun") Tobin, He was in the Navy 1950-54, transferring from the Battleship Wisconsin in 1952 or 1953. At one point he was based in New London, CT. He was involved in navigation in some way. He died of natural causes in 1978, just after his 46th birthday. His wife, Joan, died several years later. Did he serve on the Blackfin?

Comments: I was aboard her in 1970 and '71 we made West Pac's and performed a few Black OPs off the coast of Nam. She wasn't the best accommodations but she got us there and back.
The Navy tried to sell her to Italy but when they performed their inspections she failed and they sunk her for a reef :-(

Comments: I would be interested in hearing from a Korean War Vetran Who served on The Blackfin during that time. I enjoyed my time aboard. All we did basically was play war games, but on my last West-Pac, we did have 2 special OP s. One 52 days, and one 55 days.
