CREATING A USS BAYONNE MUSEUM |
| JOSEPH POUTRE wrote on June 6, 2000 City and State: BAYONNE NJ Unit: Service or Relationship: - Comments: Several residents of the city of Bayonne, NJ are looking to set up a museum dedicated to our namesake ship. We are looking for any crewmembers with memorabilia or stories to place in this museum. The site we are looking at is the former Military Ocean Terminal here in Bayonne, where the battleship New Jersey was supposed to go until the recent decision by SecNav to send her to Camden. We would appreciate _any_ photos of our namesake vessel - there are only a couple on file with the Navy. Also memorabilia from the ship and her crew, and stories from crewmembers. Please write me at my home address or send me email. Thank you! Keywords: Bayonne patrol frigate ship navy |
