USS HIGBEE

Comments: I am looking for the picture of Higbee along side of the Bataan in the Yellow Sea in 1953. This picture was the center fold in August 2000 issue of Sea Classics magazine. I was a GM2 and believe I'm standing right out of Mt52. If anyone could help me get a copy of this photograph it would greatly be appreciated.

Comments: My step-father. My mother Doreen Machuta is interested in making contact with anyone who remembers "Mac" or "AJ" as he was referred to. Believe he was on the Bataan from about 49 to 51. Prior to that or after he was on the USS CURTIS.

Father Served on USS Bataan

Comments: My father Edward ("Ed" or "Eddie")Boylan served on the Bataan and shipped out of Alemeda for Korea. He was a hydraulic specialist and worked on the hanger deck. He has many fond memories of the ship. As a kid we always loved to hear his "war stories." If you worked with my father or knew him when he was on the Bataan, please e-mail me!

DesDiv 51 and HMCS Nootka were her escorts.

Comments: My father was navigator of the Bataan in 1951 and 1952. He died in 1989, much before his time. We still have the "yearbook" and other stuff, plus an 8mm movie of a plane crashing on deck as it was landing. I remember going on board at least twice in San Diego. We lived in Coronado.

Comments: Interested in connecting with individuals who knew my father when he served aboard the Bataan from 1950 - 1953. He was a member of the Aviation crewman division of the V7th. If anyone remembers him I would like to hear from you and pass the information over to my father. He fears computers but is very much interested in finding his crew mates during that time.
