Comments: My father RICHARD FOREST served on this ship and is looking for pictures of the ship and crew members. He was injured when a plane crashed into the ship and knows that crew members had pictures then. He also is looking for any living crew members that served with him to contact. Comments: Where was USS BATAAN on Navy Day, 1945, as everything has her entering New York harbor on October 17,1945. There was a Presidential Review by President Truman aboard USS RENSHAW where he was saluted by the carriers, MIDWAY, ENTERPRISE & MONTEREY. The BATAAN left New York, as she was assigned to another city. Where was she on Saturday, October 27, 1945?

Comments: Hi,I am the daughter of Donald Feuerborn and am looking for anyone who may have known him,have pictures of him,etc... I know he was on this ship in Oct. of 1951 as I found an old Liberty pass of his,his rank at that time was EMEN.I am sad to say that he died Dec. 27,2004,6 months after my mom and 1 week after my youngest sister.Any knowledge would help my family as our dad was so it seemed always out at sea during those years.Thank you,Debbie

I AM SURE YOU REMEMBER THE BEDOING STRAITS-- CVE 116. WE CALLED IT BUILDING 116 BECAUSE WHEN WE WERE SUPPOSED TO STAY IN YOKOSUKA OR SASEBO FOR A FEW DAYS OF REST AND RECREATION, THE WIND DIED DOWN AND THE STARITS COULD NOT LAUNCH AIRCRAFT--SO BACK WE WENT ON PATROL TO REPLACE THEM. THIS HAPPENEND OFTEN.
AM CURIOUS IF LOUIE YANELIO IS STILL ARROUND-- I KNOW HE LIVE IN MAYS LANDING NEW JERSEY. I WAS ON THE BATAAN FROM 1950 TO 1953 WHEN I ASKED FOR SHORE DUTY AND GOT IT--!!!! KWAJALEIN IN THE MARSHALL ISLANDS--KNEW BETTER-DON'T VOLUNTEER FOR ANYTHING.
SPENT MANY HOURS IN FORWARD COMPARTMENT ON SHIP TEACHING PLANE AND SHIP RECOGNITION TO PILOTS.

Comments: I am looking for the picture of Higbee along side of the Bataan in the Yellow Sea in 1953. This picture was the center fold in August 2000 issue of Sea Classics magazine. I was a GM2 and believe I'm standing right out of Mt52. If anyone could help me get a copy of this photograph it would greatly be appreciated.
