Comments: A few years back I was able to visit with Art Nelson and rehashed old times. Missed the reunions. Have been unable to get ahold of Art in the last several months. Last conversation with Art, we were trying to find if Lou Albi (LT.) or Willard S. (hogleg) Irving were still around. Also, when I last met with Art, he informed my that my Chief, "Smitty" had passed on, but I did have a chance to corresponed with Smitty's wife.

Comments: Tough times, eh? Evacuating the wounded, dropping our guys on the beach, women shell diving in freezing weather, laying offshore while cities burned. Memorable days. When is the reunion? I hope to be there.

Comments: I was on the USS ALGOL AKA54 during WW2 and the USS PARICUTIN AE18 during the Korean war. Both were good ships with great crews. The Algol 2000 reunion in San Antonio was great. The 20001 reunion in Seattle promises to be as good or better.

Comments: My husband, Harold (Bill) Heise, served on the USS Algol from 1951 to 1953. I am searching for any shipmates so that he can contact them. Also would like information about when and where the annual reunions are held. Would like to surprise him by making arrangements for him to attend this year if possible.
Thanks, Carol Heise
