IT HAS TWO COPIES OF "THE ANCHOR" A 1955 YEARBOOK TYPE BOOK FROM THE TRAINING CENTER IN SAN DIEGO. IT IS FOR COMPANY 055. Comments: I am trying to find someone who may know of Clarence Hendersen who served on the USS Ajax from 1952-1953. He has a daughter living in Idaho who was born in Waterville Maine in 1953. She has never met him and would like to know about him if he is still alive or has any living relatives. You may contact me at marjjy2@gmail.com and I will relay any information to her. He was in the 7th Division aboard the Uss Ajax. That is all the information that I have at this time.

Comments: I have been looking for Janan W. Robeau for some time now. Every two years there is a SASEBO reunion in Las Vegas. Its not just the school but anyone who lived in Sasebo. I knew Jan in I believe 1961-63. I know that he was on the USS AJAX. He also served with a David Vidola and Ken Ericson. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Jan or his friends, please contact me. I know that Jan had family at one time in Stone Mountain, Georgia and I think a sister in California. We are all anxious to see him again!

Comments: Went aboard ajax in san diego in 1959. Made west pac cruise and home ported in Sasebo to replace the luzon. Looking for shipmates who remember stand bar texas and todai's in sake town or lived up on matsu hill. Remember the cruise in the inland sea to places like Kagoshima and Beppu or weekends in 99 islands. Worked in repair for a while, but most of the time in fwd engineroom. Transferred to uss pyro in 61.

Comments: I was stationed on the benjo Maru from April 1960 to April of 1962, I worked in both firerooms for one miserable year with guys like Miller & Larry Wisemann who would start kissing while on the throttles ,Henry Seay ,Polly Parot ,Waterfield ,pappy Haskins,Gimble Lovely, Teal, no body wants to talk Ships foundry one year Jack Lambert,Rolland Cussen, Cheif Larry Gillespie,Lagaspie ,Andy Anderson,Petrosie Bohannan I have only found one of you guys Teal he's a retired postmaster now wonder why , I met a lot of great guys on the Ajax and some not so great, OH yeah Thomas what was wrong dude. Looking for my father's former shipmates

Comments: This is just a shot in the dark, but my father, the late Patrick Cole Downey of Suffern, NY served as a radio man on the USS Ajax, as well as USS Hector during the Korean War. One night, years ago at the dinner table, he broke down in front of my family and related to us how he and several other of his shipmates had come under fire, and how he killed a man in Vietnam while delivering mail, on a river somewhere and how the action was kept secret afterward. Comments: I am searching for anyone who may have served with my Uncle aboard the USS AJAX, Alvin Bratton McKinney (Alvin) I belive he was killed in a boiler (broiler)explosion. He was killed such a long time ago I have little to no information on him or his death. It would be nice to know more and to maybe speak with someone who could share some old memories about him.

Comments: My Grandfather served on the USS Ajax during the Korean War. He was a POW and I would like to know more about him. I want to put together as much information together for a special occasion. He states that went in another persons spot and he was captured. My Grandfathers name is Russell N. Anderson. His twin brother (Fred) also served at the same time and I believe on the same ship. If anyone knows these two men please let me know thank you.
