Comments: My father Eugene Mayo Gonzales served this country as a Naval frog man demolition specialist during the war from 1950 to 53 or 54. My father had a great love for this great country we live in. His family were immigrants from Spain and Puerto Rico the values he grew up with were hard knocks and disapointments but he endevored and was a changed person due to his service in the Navy and the Korean War. The men and women who served in that war are done a dis-service by not being honored and recognized for thier sacrafices. I feel honored and proud to be a daughter of a Korean War Veteran. Thank you Daddy for ensuring our future and the freedoms that come with the USA and securing the future of your grandchildren and others. If any one knows my father from his Navy days please email me , I currently work at PT Mugu Navy base where my father had been stationed during the 50's.I dont know the company he served only one of the ships, the USS Kitty Hawk.My father is still around.

Thank you to you Veterans
a greatful daughter

I know he made the Inchon landing, and I believe Puson also. He dove with Joch Custoa during his service at some point. All of his pictures are deteriorated so anything would be helpful.

Comments: I've served twice so far in Iraqi Fredom...my dad is in his 70's and I just found out a few years ago that he was part of the Navy's UDT in Korea. He only spoke about it for 10 minutes and nothing more. I know he was at Wonsan, Inchon, Puyongnam. I think he was at other battles as well. He was tall and skinny and a great swimmer. I'm in the navy myself and sure would love to know more about my dad's experience. I hope he'll tell me but it sure would be great to hear from someone that knew him back then. Thank you.

He passed away 22 October 2006, and though he told some stories, I'm quite sure he didn't tell them all. Comments: My beloved father in law George"Chicken" Berry Mcnair passed on to frogman heaven (oh that big lilly pad in the sky). He peacefully moved on in his sleep
On 12 October 2006 1345 hrs. Sharp,Intelligent,Witty and ultra humorous till his last day.In my humble opinion, a treasure a trove of wisdom and history. George graduated in Class 8. Served in UDT 13 and 12 with 4 tours in nam. He master planned OPERATION DEEP CHANNEL (Kinh Gay canal Vietnam 1970) which almost exhausted the SPECWAR inventory of MK 8 hose. He knew his demo without question! Additionally, good portion of the UDT/SEAL MANAUL is written by him. As a latent member of UDT-12 myself, I soon became aware the heoric deeds these special men contributed to our Nation and community. He'll be sorely missed! George is survived by his daughter Michele, 4 Grand children, 2 Great Grand Children and Son In law Ivan.

He served aboard the USS ST Paul CA-73 during the Pacific, Korea and he served in China for a time. I know some of the members of his team, Timothy Fitzpatrick is the only full name I know due to the fact my brother is named for him. I also know of a gentleman named Bull, he was as my dad put it as big as a house and black as night. My dad worked in Inchon, Puson in Korea. Any info would be greatly appriciated. Comments: Looking for any information still available on the career of my father Gordon Lavon Johnson who served with UDT 1 and 12 during the Korean Conflict. Was severely injured in the right hand by a detonator during a demonstration in Lake Washington in the 50's. He told me a story once about blowing up a railroad bridge in Korea. I think I recall that he said he and his team was transported to and from the site of the bridge by a submarine. Don't know a lot more than that. It would be really nice to learn something about those years of his life.

I just found out he was a Navy Seal with underwater demolitions sometime between 1950- 1957. He trained in Coronado. He speaks fondly of getting a copy of his certificate that acknowledges when he crossed the equator and his Navy Picture. My Parents are divorced and my Mother lost these. I would really like to get his Navy Picture and this certificate. I don't know what the Certificate is called and need help in obtaining it and his picture. If you new my father, and/or could help me get this information, I and my family would be deeply appreciative. I would like to surprise him with a gift of these two items.

1ST BLACK FROGMAN 'TIZ' MORRISON

Comments: My FATHER PASSED AWAY MARCH 23,2003. He was a US Navy Frogman. It is believed that he was the first black froman in the US Navy. As I recall he graduated from Tad Pole class or team 2, in 1944.
At his funeral 15 to 20 retired Frogs as well Seals came to honor my father. I never had the opportunity to say thanks for that outstanding show of brotherhood that my father talked about so much. My father loved each and everyone you (you know who are).
I am now 54 years old, but I will never forget the summers of 59',60 and 61 when I used to tag along to work with my dad at the amphibious base. What a hell of place for 8 or 9 year old to play. I am honored to say I knew the men of UDT Team 12.
I know on thing for sure heaven's a different place with the likes of McNally, Joe Jenkins, Doc Beaver and so many other great men that have passed on and now Fred "Tiz" Morrison.
In recent years before he passed away he and I fished together. Surprisingly he told me many stories about his twenty years as a Frogman. Maybe one day I'll tell his story, the story of Fred "Tiz" Morrison, "The Real Tarzan".
From my family to yours I wish all the best.

Comments: My father, Eddie "Gabby" Garabedian, served in WWII as a UDT 16 frogman.

I know he saw action in Okinawa, the south Pacific islands, spent time in Maui, saw Gen. Patton in North Africa--would love to hear from any members with details of where UDT 16 trained and served.

Prior to his death in 1983, my dad organized reunions with other UDT 16 members. (Some of his fellows: Ed Mitchell, Howard Moos, Gene "Pooty" Slate, Dr. O'Hara, "DingDong" Bell, Mr. Kinch.)

He always spoke of his fellow UDT members with great pride and affection--we marveled at their high sea adventures, true patriotism and undying loyalty to each other.

Thanks to all of you who served so bravely!

Comments: My grandfather Robert Knice was a Frogman in the Korean war. He isn't very good with computers, so he asked me to look for another frogman, for him to share a few stories with. You can't imagine how much this would mean to him. He belives that every frogman had a vital role in the war, but are comonly overlooked. I respect and salute you all this would mean a great deal to My Grandfather and I. He doesnt ask for anything, and just yesterday he asked me for this. Please contact me. , Brad Silver

Comments: I dont much about my fathers Navy service he didnt talk about it much and he passed away in 1984 at age 51.I do know he joined in Dec 1950 at age 17 and got out about Sept 1953. His swim partner was a guy named Riley from California and Riley was killed by a drunk driver a few years after the war. I also know my father was on a ship called DE550Laurie for a few months with his brother Wilbur at the end of his service. Please email with and help and I would love to know what team he was on.

Comments: My dad is in his 70's and I just found out 2 years ago that he was part of the Navy's UDT in Korea. Thank you.

Comments: My father threw all his military things away, and I'm trying to do a scrapbook and shadowbox in his memory before I run out of time. I'm his daughter, and am terminally ill with lung cancer. I would like my daughter, his only grandchild, to know what her grandpa did, and be proud that he was in the elite forces that helped shape history. Please help if you have any pictures, info., etc. Thank you.

Comments: I am searching for someone who knew my brother Paul Satterfield or someone whose relative may have served in the same unit. I would love to find some pictures of my brother as my children and grand-children need something to remember of an Uncle who served and died for his country.
