Comments: My Father, Richard (Dick) Patterson, served in the Navy during the Korean War between 1948-1953. He also went by the nickname "Pat". He was an excellent Tenor Saxophone Player in the Navy Band. He is very sick now and I would be honored to hear from anyone who knew him then and may have served with him. Thank you for your service and for your assistance.

Ann Csonka-DeNoyer wrote on 2007-11-30 04:02:51.0

Comments: I am working on a biography for my husband. He served as a young medical/pharmacy technician. He has a barely-visible photo of the "USS Sea Ray" but I would like to find a photo I can see. He already served in WWII, was recalled from the Reserves twice for Korean duty. This surely is not as significant as info re those who did not return, MIAs, etc. but I would like to get more info and photo if possible. You can be assured that we are leaving some thoughts and perspectives on wars and other "conflicts" for our kids and grandkids, etc. Thanks, Ann P.S. I tried the list of Navy ships with no luck.

Helen Wang wrote on 2007-09-26 14:27:49.0

Comments: All my life people called me a Korean War orphan. I grew up in Taiwan. I want to know who my father is. Alledgedly he was a high ranking navy in Korean war, having to do with the Navy Commander sohn Won Yil and it seems he was killed in a friendly fire by US, having something to do with US president Harry Truman. Mylife has been shrouded in mythtry and I want to know more in details. Can you tell me how Sohn Won Yil died? I was alledgedly born on 3-6-54 and all my life (in US since 8-77) has been intricably related to this 38 parellel concept and I want to know why? Please help me! I believe that US Congress has earmarked some fund for me all my life and is still studying me for whatever reason. This is a serious case so please help me! My email is Helencareergirl@aol.com. General Search

I am interested in finding info on naval air operations during the
Korean War and in particular I'd like to delve into the accounts of
those pilots KIA. Is there any place online that I might find or
request such information?

My compliments on the wonderful presentation you and your group of
volunteers have put together on this topic.

I know my grandfather (Edward Joseph Cimburek) was in the Navy. He was
located in the Phillipines during the war. He was with 13 other people
when thier sea-plane crashed. This is what I found out. A sea-plane
usually went on a flight with 14 crew members. On that particular day 2
people called in sick.

One however, decided he could fly. The other one didn't go. The signals
on the plane indicated water below. (That was the only part of land they
could safely come down on.) They were having trouble with their engine.

Instead of landing they crashed into the side of Mt. Baton. Those men
were only 30 days from coming home. I hope this helps. This is all I
know. Thanks for your time and your help.

Sincerely,
Anna Cimburek
