unknown), approximately 70 - 75 years old. Served in
the Eighth Army in South Korea during the period of
1961 - 63 in Battery F of the Fourth Missile
Battalion at Moon Hak-dong near Inchon.

His parents were living in New Mexico during his tour
in Korea. He was an SP5 and was a security guard. He
had a brother and sister.

I want to clarify the fact that my father was with my
mother during the term of my pregnancy. My mother
also shared the fact that my father did hold me after
I was born on January 10, 1962.

and if so email Representative Michaud with the
Subcommittee on Benefits and Memorials and tell him
your problems. His contact person is Ryne Chua and
his email is ryne.chua@mail.house.gov. If you live
in a state where one of the members of the
subcommittee represents please use the 866-727-4894

needs to know how serious this problem is and without
help from some of you missing records those of us
fighting for records will get ignored.

City and State: MOYOCK NC

Unit: 2ND AVN BN

Service or Relationship: ARMY VETERAN

Comments: I arrived at Stanton Field in late Nov 66. The cold and the smell were
a NEW experience for a 17 year old Floridian. I was fresh out of
Huey school at Eustis.

It seemed like a fairly Spartan existence, platoons double bunked in
Quonset huts, boiling on the top bunk, freezing on the bottom bunk,
walking to a different building for latrines and showers, a single foot
locker and wall locker for all belongings, and some Roy Orbison nut
playing his songs on a stereo from 1700 to Taps.

I never saw a Huey for the entire tour, but man oh man, the CH21's,
H34's and Ch37's that flew in made a lot of racket.

I was a switchboard operator for several months and can assure you
that MASH got it wrong. It was almost impossible to get a call
through to the states.

Doing a night patrol on the DMZ with ACTA was the single scariest
thing I've ever done in my life, and that includes 30 months in RVN
including Tet of 68.

If Howard Baker is still out there, give me a shout. I have a
photograph of you tangled up in the switchboard. INTREPID out!

Comments: My Daddy John Thomas Walker was in Korea in 1967-1968,
He recently died with prostate cancer. I was born 1969
with what was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, But in
order for me to have this it should be Genetic on both
sides of the family but it was not. I'm severely
handicapped. I found out some disturbing news today.
We went to the VA today to put in for his Grave foot
Marker, we ended up being there for 4 hours, we found
out Daddy was exposed to Agent Orange. They told Us
that was likely the reason he got prostate cancer and
the reason I was born with Handicapped. The Army knew
it was dangerous poison but used it any way. It was
sprayed to kill all vegetation, Trees etc... so the
Vietnamese couldn't hide and to flush them out of their
villages. Daddy was living near one of those villages,
he told me that during what they called a field mission
he was over come by the fumes and passed out he would
have died but a Korean lady found him and got him help.
If I can prove that he was near the DMZ The VA may help
with my medical bills. I know he worked in the Motor
Pool and I think he was at camp mackenzie maybe in
seoul barbara or kimpo. Does anybody know if this was
near the DMZ?

Operations Clerk. I stayed there until Sgt Wright
was reassigned. I was then sent out to work in the
field as Heavy Equipment Operator on the DMZ. We were
building new bunkers and moving a fence 30 meters
north of the existing fence. I worked on the Zone
and drew hazardous duty pay in the amount of 65.00
extra a month. I had the option to leave on my
original departure date, or extend a few months and
get what they called an early out. When I left Korea
I was out of the army.

Comments: Looking for anyone ever stationed in NamYang. Any
time from the time they opened until it was turned
over to the ROK Army. I think the place may have been
sprayed with Agent Orange especially on the TAC site
and the O/C site. Is there any one with skin problems
or other health issues out there???

Comments: If you were a member of a unit that had no shoulder
patch nor did you have your dog tags or ID Card and
can't get benefits I need to hear from you. I am
putting together a list for Office of Secretary of
Defense of those needing records and can't find them
due to who they served with and what they did. You
may have been a member of a unit nicknamed Ghost
Walkers or you may have been nicknamed Scorpions,
trancula's or something else just as bad and none of
you have records. I need to hear from you ASAP
