Comments: I was this Units Medic for 17 months from Feb. 1969
to July 1970. I am suffering from Agent Orange I
believe we at A-7-2 were drinking Agent Orange
tainted water for all those months. We imported our
water
from a local river that its source was up by the DMZ.
We also went on AFU's up to the Hon River and others
up near the DMZ and I believe we were exposed to
Agent Orange when in the field and for us who visited
or T.D.Y'd to Camp Humpreys I have read it was spayed
many times too. It would be good to hear from any of
the old Unit A-7-2. Your old Medic Mike

a few pictures from that time, but I would like to
know what Camp we were assigned to. I do not
remember the name of the camp. Some of the troops
were Sgt. Byrum, PFC Hill, and I think one of the

Would like to know the name of the Camp and contact

Comments: If anyone can help me get something My husband served
at Camp Red Cloud, 59th Aviation unit, from March
1966 thru end of April of 1967.

My husband has stage 4 lung cancer. It is also in
his liver and had large tumor in neck area that was
wrapped around all blood vessels going to brain and
exogenous. Has taken radiation and still on chemo
treatments. Can not operate on his cancer.

Can not find any concrete information to help with
our claim for AO, because the Army says that it was
not there until 1968.

Do you have anything on any other chemicals during
this time frame?

If anyone can help me to find any concrete
information to send to American Legion Rep to help
with case I would be totally grateful. Please email
it to me, so that I may make a copy.

Thank you,
Ronda Cavel

involved and injured in a night time firefight inside
the DMZ while on patrol (not sure of the month). He
was a Ranger and was awarded the Bronze Star and
Purple Heart following the incident. I am trying to
get the after action report as well as the report
recommending him for the awards. I have contacted the
National Personel Records but I haven't received what
I wanted. Am I asking for the correct things? Does
anyone else have any suggestions or knowledge of the
event that could help me. My father was awarded the
Bronze Star for destroying a tank and saving his unit.

Because George Bush decided he would sign into law in

Comments: My name is SSG Ervin Allen Carpenter, and I retired in
2008. I was with A company 3/23 INF, 2nd ID at Camp
Greaves/Lawton, Greaves was the first camp on the right
as you crossed north on Freedom Bridge. I am an Imjim
Scout and still remember my training at ACTA. Our
guard post was GP Jane. I spent most of my time on GP
Jane and patrolling the DMZ. I still have my Imjim
Scout patch and certificate somewhere.

I found my yearbook, 69-70, from Korea. I was in Alpha
Company, 3rd BN, 23rd INF, 2nd Infantry Division, 3th
Platoon 1969-1970. I have scanned the whole yearbook
into my computer. What a wonderful history this is for
many fellow soldiers that served during that time on
the DMZ. I would imagine that those soldiers that are
looking for proof that they served during that time,
for AO claims at the VA, would have something to tap into.

Anyone interested in the Yearbook please contact me. I
am asking the Webmaster of this site if they will post
my Yearbook.

Unit: B CO. 2/23RD INF

Service or Relationship: ARMY VETERAN

Comments: Looking for anyone who served in unit, from Oct.68-
Dec69. I was in line platoon, and a driver, took MANY
patrols out on that mountain road on the DMZ.Spent a
lot of time on GP Beryl. Back in those days you went
there for punishment. I remember flippin the finger
to the NK's up on their hill, and how chopped up it
got when they opened fire on it when the patrol was
ambushed, when they were painting MDL signs. Looking
for Boone, Godbolt, Rudy, and Doc Torres. They are
the only names I remember, except for Platoon Sgt.
Chisolm.
