Comments: Anyone able to verify Agent Orange was stored at Camp
Howze Motor Pools? Have info that it was and only
one notorized statement from 2004. Saw a couple of
postings that said they were in Camp Howze from 66-70
and saw 55 gallon barrels in the Motor Pool that had
yellow stripe around the barrel. Please contact me
if you have any info, photos etc. Filed a claim in
2002, got denied now 12 years later still trying to
verify.

Comments: I have been advised that AO was stored at Camp Howze
Motor Pool in 68-70. Thus we Need Photo's of camp
howze motor pool from 1968 thru 1969. Entrance, and
inside the Motor Pool of storage fuel and hazardous
material storage areas... need photos of 55 Gal drums
stored in those areas. I and a group of individuals
with Agent Orange Claims from 68-69, were stationed
At Camp Howze and lived right next to the Motor Pool
and their shower, toilet and outside equipment clean
up area was just inside the front gate of the Motor
Pool and we need photo's of the area. Any photos of
the Motor Pool in 68 and 69 would be helpful.

Comments: Looking for GI'S that was in the Z 1963-66. I was
there in 1965-66. I found a site on facebook called
Korean DMZ Vets. I know that the N.Koreans Agents
were coming across the MDL and causing alot of
trouble for my unit before I got there, and it got
worse over that year of my tour. When I got there the
sector that I was in was just like it was in 1953.The
bush was over grown and wild life was every where and
the MDL markers were connected by tape, so Joe could
hide anywhere. I understand that they used A O after
I left and built a fence.

KOREAN DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL

CECIL WATSON SR. wrote on October 2, 2012

City and State: ARLINGTON

Unit: CS CO., 1ST BG,, 8TH CAV. REGIMENT, 1ST CAV. DIVI

Service or Relationship: ARMY VETERAN

Comments: Just for those who have questions about the KDSM. I
mailed a Form 180 request about 3 weeks ago (around 2
Sept. 2012) applying for the medal. I included a
copy of my DD214 which did not specifically show
Korean service buty did show 16 months overseas duty
in block 24c. I received a reply yesterday, 25 Sept.
2012 verifying my entitlement to the medal and a
DD215 showing a correction and addition of the KDSM
to my separation records. It also gives you a
website to check on the status of the award. Right
now it states that the award should be shipped to me
in March or April of 2013. I did get a quicker
response than expected.
Those of you that want to apply can google the Form
180 Request Pertaining to Military Records and
print it out. I checked box 1. Other under section
II and wrote Eligibility for Korean Defense Service
Medal. I also checked box 2. Other under section II
and wrote Application for Korean Defense Service
Medal. Apparently this worked. I sent that and a
copy of my DD214 to: U. S. Total Army Personnel
Command, Awards and Decorations Office, ATTN: TAPC-PD-
PA, 200 Stoval St., Alexandria, VA. 22302-0471.
Good luck to other who deserve and apply for this
medal.

DMZ NIGHT TIME FIRE FIGHT 1960

Comments: My Father served in the 7th cavalry in 1960 and was
involved and injured in a night time firefight inside
the DMZ while on patrol (not sure of the month). He
was a Ranger and was awarded the Bronze Star and
Purple Heart following the incident. I am trying to
get the after action report as well as the report
recommending him for the awards. I have contacted the
National Personel Records but I haven't received what
I wanted. Am I asking for the correct things? Does
anyone else have any suggestions or knowledge of the
event that could help me. My father was awarded the
Bronze Star for destroying a tank and saving his unit.

Thank you
Roger Timm

His dog's name was (i think) dark prince and from
what I under stand no one was able to handle that dog
except my father. He's a big guy. He's over 6'6 tall.
If any one remember's him I would appreciate any info

Comments: Korea service 68-69 and 71-73. The VA has decided to
not allow me to seek medical services. Even though
Honorably discharged I decided when I got out to work
hard, pay my taxes and become a productive citizen.
Because George Bush decided he would sign into law in
regards to the means test my wife and I both made to
much money and therefore this veteran and like many
others in this same predictiment cannot receive any
medical benefeits. What a tragedy VA shuns veterans.
We were only men who did what we were told and we
were lied to.
