Ray Hervey the S1. John Brewer was E Co Commander. THe Battalion CO
was a West Pointer. Ray Hervey was a fantastic boss, tough minded but
very good.. If anyone out there was there at the same time, send a note.

Comments: In January of 1957, I flew with the 60th A.R.S. from Itami Air Base, Japan, on a search for an MATS aircraft lost over the Pacific Ocean, that was flying to Japan with military dependents, about 200 miles east of Tokyo.

I was a still photographer from the 67th Reconnaissance Wing, Photo Lab, and was going along to cover the unit during the search. I have some negatives to give to a person who was assigned to the 60th A.R.S.

The aircraft that I flew on was a SC-47 SN-049565. Some of the crew were: LT. William Klesert, Pilot. Lt. William Edwards, Co-Pilot. Lt. Charles Payne. Enlisted crew personnel were: SSgt John Nielson and A1c Jenning Hibbard.

- veterans from 1950-1955 who have any of the below listed cancers;
- veterans of that era who have applied to the VA for compensation and health benefits for any of the listed cancers and have been denied;
- veterans who have been treated at VA hospitals for any of the below listed cancers but were not considered service-related.

Rather than pasting in a full page of data, please visit www.bluewaternavy.org/koreainfo1.htm for the details and the reason for this statistical questionnaire. Thank you for your help with this.

Comments: We conducted S and R (search and recovery) of temporary
burials of combat KIA personnel on the North Korean
Communist occupied side. Each morning we checked into
the Panmunjom Headquarters on the DMZ to get pass to
go into Communist side to do our searching for remains
using our map overlay of battlefield site burials. We
of course had to give up our side arms, wear a yellow
arm band to signify we had permission to be on Commmunist territory side doing our work. We were guarded by Communist Soldiers with fixed bayonets. They would ask us for "tobako" (cigarettes). We were
restricted to answer, and communicate with them.

Comments: I believe my uncle was with the Signal Corp. (He later was an engineer
fot the Bell Telephone Co.) -

I have a Korean silver teapot from the '50's that says:

"COMMEMORATION - TO MAJOR JOSEPH W. KELLY - FROM 73rd
SIG. CONS. BN. ROKA"

I'm just trying to find info on what that might all be about -

Any insight into the abbreviations or such commemorative gift routines
from Rep. Of Korea Army would be appreciated.
My uncle passed away 35 years ago and I have many things from his
tour of duty then - films too! - I'd just like to learn more -

Thank You

LOOKING FOR BIOLOGICAL FATHER/FAMILY

Comments: I was born in Korea, in 1959. Adopted in 1966. Found biological mom, in Korea, in 1986, while I was stationed at Kwang-ju AB. She gave me a picture of my biological father and his two sons. My understanding is that Perry had two assignments to Korea and that he was there when I was born. Does anybody know him? He worked in the commissary/bx as an MP, and my mother was a cashier, there.

She couldn't remember the name of the base...it no longer exists. She couldn't remember his first name..possibly Alan? Alonzo? She couldn't remember what state he was from, either...Her name was Jung-Ja Lee. Any information about this matter, please email me. Thank You.
