HELP WITH DIC CLAIM |
| LINDA HOFSTEDT wrote on October 19, 2011 City and State: HONOLULU HI Unit: - Service or Relationship: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: He was rated at 60% service connected disability due to cold weather - frost bite in his feet and hands. He passed away in June of 2010. The VA has told me I do not get DIC because his death was not service connected. As he got older he suffered with hand and foot pain, he developed pneomina, and shorrly thereafter a blood clot in his leg. He had very poor circulation, finally they had to amputate both legs. His death certificate states congestive heart failure, natural causes, but also lists periferal vascular disease. His VA primary doctor says none of this was service connected. She's wrong. I need help, I have a VA service organization gentlemen "helping" me but he says my case is poor. I have appealed. I don't know where to turn. Can you give me any advice. Thank you Keywords: My husband Francisco Algar Nunez, USMC Retired after 42 years Gunnery Sgt, served in the Korean War 1950- 1952 at the Chosin Reservoir. |
