She was award an outstanding award from the Air Force. She passed away in 2000 and she spoke so fondly of those years at Brookley. Comments: I am trying to find somebody who may have served with my great-uncle, Billy James Miller, who lived in Jackson Co Al. He was killed in l953 just outside Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama in a motorcycle accident. He was returning home from leave. He was a veteran of the Korean War and I think he may have been in the Army first, enlisted while under age. His mother,Dixie, was able to get him discharged because of his age. He came home for a few months, and enlisted in the US Air Force. I have a picture of him, he is in Korea, I think it is Korea, sitting between two other soldiers, and on the picture he had written, Hayes, me, Hayes. In other words, the other two fellows were named Hayes.
Billy James was l9 when he was killed. I think he drove a gasoline while in Korea for the Army.
I would love to speak to somebody who knew him. I am trying to get information on him for a family tree.

Comments: I'm looking for someone who might have known my father, Ltjg Bill Burrell (Eldon Junior Burrell). He was sent to Adak from Goodfellow AFB in late 1949. His plane went down off of Adak on July 4 or 5, 1950 while flying a rescue mission. Any information would be treasured. Thanks, Cathy Burrell

I am a member of the Korean War Veterans Association and was just
surfing to see if there was anything new on the KWVA.org site. Then I
followed the link over to see if this site had changed. I am still
searching for AACS friends that also served during the 1951 to 1954 era.
I went through basic with the 3744th, flight 191, then was sent to
Carswell AFB, Fort Worth, TX with the old 1064th Communications Group.
Then they changed our name to the 2048th AACS Squadron. In 1953 I was
transferred to the 2045th at Andrews, and then on to the 244th AACS
Squadron at the Pentagon. My entire service life was spent in what was
called teletype relay control switching centers. My fondest memories
are with friends at Carswell, so if you want to add anything to my guest
registration it would be looking for friends from the 2048th.
Best Wishes,
Joan McKinney
