Comments: My father, Richard Dickinson, was stationed at EtaJima in the 1950s and my mother and I were there with him from 1952 to 1954. Daddy was on the base softball team. I am going to Japan with my daughter in a few months and I wanted to take her to Eta Jima to see where I lived from the age of 2 to 4. We lived in a Japanese house near the base. Is there anyplace online that I could get photos of the base and nearby homes during that period? Unfortunately, I don't remember too much about living there because of my age but I have been told that I was the hit of the area with the Japanese because of my blond hair and blue eyes. I would love to hear from anyone that was there during that time and might have known my father Richard Dickinson and my mother Imogene Dickinson. My father passed away 2 years ago but both my mother and father loved living in EtaJima.

Comments: I have photographs I'd like to give to either the families of the men in them or an organization that would like them. According to a stamp on the back of some they are from Camp Mackall NC in May 1949 with the members of Task Force Victor for Opn Tarheel. Sgt Aldridge (Sgt's wife and son in pictures) was "my Boss" according to one photo. There are also a few onboard the US General Hase and some from Seoul, Pijongyang, Miriyang and Pusan. I don't know how to go about finding these men but here's a list of names from the pictures:
Gene L Lahar, Newport Vermont
Steve Zamagias, Alliance Ohio
Edward Lawson KY,
Theodore Jerolman NJ,
John Morrs(?) FLA,

Comments: My dad rode the bus on May 12,1953 to report for duty, and when the officer in charge asked his middle initial, my dad said he didn't have a middle name. The officer said well what name would you like to have, b/c we can't leave it blank. The only name that came to mind off the top of his head was Bernard b/c he had just seen him. The officer wrote it down and Daddy has used that as his legal middle name ever since. He says he hasn't seen you to tell you about it.
