LEWIS wrote on March 24, 2009 City and State: RESACA GA Unit: CHARLIE COMPANY Service or Relationship: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: My dad rode the bus on May 12,1953 to report for duty, and when the officer in charge asked his middle initial, my dad said he didn't have a middle name. The officer said well what name would you like to have, b/c we can't leave it blank. The only name that came to mind off the top of his head was Bernard b/c he had just seen him. The officer wrote it down and Daddy has used that as his legal middle name ever since. He says he hasn't seen you to tell you about it. Keywords: Bernard Holland; Calhoun, GA. (Red Bud) |
