| WALT ATWELL wrote on September 17, 2002 CITY AND STATE: UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FRIEND OF VETERAN Comments: Building a scale model of an M4A3E8 for my KW vet father. Question: What were the typical uniform items for tank crewmen? Did you wear coveralls or plain fatigues? Vehicle helmets or steel pots? Or was it come-as-you-are? Also, were the tanks in Heavy Tank Co. typically named or simply numbered? Finally, what would the bumper numbers look like? My guess is 9-2-I / TNK-XX --close?
