Comments: I am helping my father locate information on his unit and the area that it operated in during the summer of 1952. I would like to speak or corespond with anyone who may be familiar with this unit during this time. I would like to find any reports or records that might help me place my father within the conflict.

Comments: Looking for George J. Martin, Last time we were in contact he was stationed in Korea. That was in 1995, I lost track of him and him of me. We never got a chance to talk once he came back from Korea, we both went separate roads. Any information on George would be greatly appreciated, our friendship will always be alive and my love for him will always be with me. All I want to know is that he is doing all right. Especially now that we went to war with Iraq.

Comments: I am researching information for my family regarding any information surrounding my uncle, CPL Ervin A Fricke. He was declared MIA on 11-28-1950, his unit was K CO 9th INF 2nd ID. If anyone has any information regarding him or knew him please contact me at brich53071@yahoo.com. I decided to take on this search after having served in Korea myself, though it was many years later, 1992-93 at CP Liberty Bell Korea.

Comments: Building a scale model of an M4A3E8 for my KW vet father. Question: What were the typical uniform items for tank crewmen? Did you wear coveralls or plain fatigues? Vehicle helmets or steel pots? Or was it come-as-you-are? Also, were the tanks in Heavy Tank Co. typically named or simply numbered? Finally, what would the bumper numbers look like? My guess is 9-2-I / TNK-XX --close?

Mr. Barker:
I'm trying to put together a Christmas present for my stepfather to
commemorate his Korea service. He still finds it very difficult to talk
about, and I think this memento would go a long way to helping him come
to terms with his experiences. All I know for sure is that he was in
the 2d Infantry Division, in a tank company that called itself the
"Manchus" that was part of an infantry regiment (perhaps the 7th?).
I'm certain he was not in a larger tank formation, because he and his
crew were awarded
CIBs.
They fought in Sherman M4E8s. I'd like to find out what the outfit was
and order him a nice unit crest, etc.

My father is a korean war vet. i have been copying alot of your pages
for him. he was a tank commander and has attended two reunions in the
last two years.
It has really helped him to get in touch with old buddies and talk
about the war.
