Note: the 92nd AFA, the 96th FAB and the 999th FAB all served in the Northeast sector of Korea under X Corps direction. They supported the 65th Infantry Rgt among others. Primary weapons: 155 MM self-propelled and armored tracked artillery mounted upon tank hulls. The 999 substituted for the 3rd Division's 9th FAB while it supported the ROK's.See: Blair, Forgotten War, pg 408.

Koreans sabotaged. When they did, they were ambushed. My dad (John Najduk) was injured and the two others, Joey Moody and Charles Beams were killed. What happened to the forth? If I'm not mistaken he was a radio man, one of the first blacks (so one of my siblings states). As there are 5 of us with a 17 yr span we don't have any clear stories. Anyway, I don't think the unit was a black unit because from what he told me, the military was one of the first places for diversity. He was born in Tennesse and enlisted while living in Detroit, MI.
