Comments: Would like to make contact with anyone who served with the 987th FA Bn (8"SP) at any time during the Korean War. I served with the 17th FA Bn (8" Towed)(Persuaders) from Jul '52 to 3 Jul '53. We had an 8" SP How attached to us. I wasn't aware there was a battalion of 8" SP Howitzers in Korea. Would like more information about this unit.

Comments: My grandfather, Edward Ruple, served as mess steward for the 987th FA HQ and HQ battery nd received a commendation ribbon with pendant for his service from 14 Aug 1952 to 21 May, 1953. Would love to hear from anyone who knew him or anyone that was there.
