Comments: I just read your entry today, July 11, 2008. Arthur Moskowitz was my uncle. My mother Flora, is Arthur's sister. In 1951 she was married and living in Manhattan, and they later moved to Queens, where they still reside. Arthur lived in Bensonhurst and later moved to Queens, as did his parents. He was an electrician, as was his father.
Arthur died of cancer on August 9, 1980. He was 51 years old.
Please send me your full name so I can tell it to my mother.

Comments: I would like to hear from any of my buddies. Initially, I came out of the 14th St. Regiment Armory, National Guard. I remember two weeks training at Pine Camp. Our outfit was then activated and we were sent to Ft. Lewis, Washington, and from there to Korea. I have many stories to tell and I would be delighted to hear from my buddies about their experiences, many of which should be similar. Incidentally, my memoirs can be found at "The Koresn War Educator" website.
Keywords: I was in Korea all of 1951. Initialy, we landed in Pusan. I remember crossing the Hahn River on platoons (the bridge was cut in half). We landed in Inchon, moved into Seoul, and then into a permanent position where we were able to set up our guns. I remember our 1st Sergeant was Mel Lamberson. Other names will come to me from time to time

955th Field Artillery Bn - 155MM
I was in Korea during the entire year of 1951. One of my best friends
was there at that time but not in my outfit (955th FABn). I think he
might have been with the signal corps. I know he had something to do
with relaying the peace talks (electronic relay station). His name is
Arthur Moskowitz .
If anyone knows him (he would be in his late 60's now), I would love to
get in touch with him.
Thank you.
My email address is Ross5424@aol.com.

Ted,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Arthur and I both lived in
Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York. My outfit was the 955th Field Artillery
Battalion (FABn). We were originally with the 24th Division, but they
sent us wherever 155 artillery was needed. Arthur was
not part of my outfit. He came to Korea sometime in 1951 (I was already
there).

Served in 955th F.A. Bn..1953, IX Corps Arty, 8th Army. Very interested
in Battle of the Kumsong Salient and attacks leading up to it.
Update: 4/23/97
Many thanks for providing we old warriors the chance to make contact
and learn more about what we did when. I have received several
responses to my request for contacts that has clarified some of the
actions that my unit the 955th F.A. Bn/Group participated in during
the Kumsong Salient in June-July 1953.
Your whole project is well done and is greatly appreciated by this ole
"Redleg".
P.S. the 955th was a "rogue" outfit called up by General Matt Ridgeway
along with 9 other battalions most of which ended up in IX Corps Arty in
support of the IX Corps and ROK II Corps.
Once again guys thank you.
