| IVOR BAILEY SR. wrote on August 18, 2003 City and State: SOUTHAMPTON Unit: BRITISH FORCES Service or Relationship: INTERESTED PERSON Comments: i came by chance on your webbsite whilst looking for anyone who served at that location,i am a british ex-serviceman and served at that location in 1951-1952 i and one other sargent lived and shared firstly a tent then a purpose built billet with our u.s.counterparts for well over a year in the station yard meeting the various trooptrains as they arrived from pusan,i have never been able to trace any of the many friends i served with,i see you were in that location at the time if you ever had cause to visit the station or the p.x. right outside or the supply depot in the nearby brewery yard it is quite possible you would have seen us we stood out rather strangely as the only two limeys around, myself at around six foot and my sargent not even five foot as you can imagine we had to put up with a lot of stick from you guys, the u.s.coy i was with was part of the 110- reple-coy and we had to go through the town to what was at one time a school to eat i suppose it was a sort of short term transit camp,i have names of various g.i.s and many photos of the time, there is just a chance that some of them are still around.hope this has been of interest to you. ivor bailey Keywords: movement control yongdungpo railroad station |
