Comments: I am Jill Allred the daughter of Junichi Nakamoto. I am trying to help my father remember some of his war experiences and find some of his friends from the Korean War. He was in the 25th Division, 90th Batallion, 69th Battery Charlie "C" Company. He served in Korea about February 1952 to about February 1953. I'm hoping to find anyone that could remember what he went through in Korea. My father has been encouraged by a VA counselor to put in a disability claim as PTSD because they say he has developed this in Korea. He has trouble with sleep, and irritable, startle response, etc. I would really appreciate you writing your memories about these traumatic events - where, when, and who. Do you know of a website I could go to find a history of the 90the Battalion, 69th Battery in detail of what he did. Mahalo for all your help and time!!!

Comments: Hello Tom Barcom- I am writing to let you know about my Uncle who apparently served with you in Korea. He grew up in Summit, NJ with his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. I know from speaking with my Mother, that the war affected him very badly. He worked as a surveyor his whole life after the war. He died in 1985 when he ran back into a fire to try to save another person. I didn't know him very well, but he always mentioned his buddies from Korea. He also always mentioned his good friend "Whitey" who had died in Korea while fighting. I hope this letter finds you well, and would look forward to learning anything about my Uncle Willie. Thanks, Robert A. Frisch (Nephew)

We have located about 600 vets from all units - Hdqs, Able, Baker, Charlie and Service Batteries. We hold reunions every year in various parts of the country. We have a news letter.

If you are a Korean War vet of the 90th we sure would be interested in hearing from you.

Comments: I am looking for anyone who remembers Gerald L. Varney. He was 22 years old when he was KIA 7/28/1950. I am a niece of his. I was only 5 years old when he died but it seems there were alot of discrepancies about how he died. I have inherited most of his possessions and am hoping to find out more. This has been a bit of a mystery in our family and I would love to hear from anyone who knew him and especially those who might know if he was actually KIA or was a POW for a time and then killed. Thanks so much and God Bless all of you for the sacrifices you've made.

Comments: Anyone remember SGT THOMAS JOSEPH O'BRIEN, HQ BTRY, 90th FA BN, 25th INF DIV?

Official status is KIA 10/26/50.

His name also appears on DOD's PMKOR Missing list: http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/pmkor/pmkor_html_o.htm

Can anyone recall/explain the action that day in the 90th FA BN's AO? According to my information, O'Brien was awarded the Bronze Star and PH.

Though his home of record was NYC, SGT O'Brien was actually an immigrant from Co. Tipperary, Ireland, and would have had an Irish accent.

To view a photo of SGT O'Brien, go to our "Irish in Korea" Honor Roll page at: www.irishinkorea.org

Ted,

I noticed that there was a message on your web page from someone
attempting to locate information about his father (who was in Korea in
1951/52 with the 25th division artillery). More specifically, which
battalion? If it's division artillery I believe it would either be 105
or 155 Howitzer. If 155, it would probably be 90th fld.aty.bn. If 105,
if my memory serves me I believe it would be 555 fld.aty.bn. If he can
obtain this information he may be able to contact someone regarding his
father.

As far as the message on your web page I could place the following:
I was with the 90th field artillery battalion ... hq.hq.bty. in Korea
during 1952. I would like to hear from anyone who may have been there
during that period.
Thanks,

Served in Survey Section of Hq Btry of the 90th FA in 1952. Would
really like to hear from old friends and acquitances. I do know the
whereabouts of a few and would be happy to share that information.

I would particularly like to know if anyone knows the whereabouts

Note:
There was a message from Reg Denny. Having fed me 3 times a day
while I was there, I remembered him well and of course contacted him
right away. That was a long time ago, but I often think about many of
