He was from Louisiana and entered the service enlisted and received a field commission later separating as a 1st Lt. He died in August 1965. I know at one time he was in Boise, Idaho and was later a 1st Sergeant for Jimmy Stewart (The Actor) I have pictures with them and the other men who served with them. He served as a gunner in the 89th Tank Bat, 25th Infantry Div, D Company. He is still alive and doing well and would like to talk with old brothers in arms. He is interested in any reunions etc. He only recently began telling much of his time in the war and only when prodded... I myself would like to know more. SO TO ALL OF THE SURVIVORS OF D CO 89th, I REMBER ONE ENGAGEMENT (FIRE FIGHT) WE HAD ON OR ABOUT 25-30 OCTOBER 1950 WHEN ATTACHED TO AUSTRALIAN Bn, SGT SNOW'S TANK WAS HIT ON THE LOADER'S SIDE RIGHT THROUGH THE STAR. I WAS GUNNER ON DARE DEVIL EXPRESS AT THAT TIME AND A LT NORDSTRUM? HAD ORDERED THE DRIVER AND MY SELF TO RECOVER TANK COMMANDER SNOW'S TANK. IN THAT PROCESS I WAS HIT WITH AN APPARENT PEICE OF FRAG ON MY RIGHT INDEX, MIDDLE AND RING FINGER. I DID NOT REPORT THE INJURY TILL THE NEXT DAY. G Weapons Plt. 11/1/50. After 24 days with small group crossed a river and was challenged by an outpost check point at 20:30hrs on 11/24/1950.(Day after Thanksgiving!) Greeted by Sgt. Miller and two of his buddies from 89th Tank Btn attached to 25th Div. Would like to find out more about Sgt. Miller and other two. Brother ret. LCL 1970. Deceased 1992.
