Comments: I think the 841st built the new airstrip in late 1952 and early 1953. Any help wouldbe greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Keywords: I'm trying to find anyone who might know the location of old K-6 airbase as to latitude and longitude or grid to compare to Camp Humphries as it is to day. The actual location has been lost thru time.

Comments: 4-19-2008 The family of Ralph Meier is sad to give you the news of his death.

If you have stories to share about his 2 years in Korea and the Army , please email or call me and I'll make sure his family and friends get to hear them too. His daughters remember him saying that he was his unit's expert at hauling loads out of ditches-- because he'd learned Navy knots from his older brother Hal, Ralph was the one who knew how to splice snapped cables.

He was one of the happiest people I have ever known.

Sadly,

Comments: I was assigned to the 841st Aug 1952 until July 1953 as a hevey equipment operator. I was an air force staff sgt. at the time and I remember how cold it was sleeping in the tents at K55 Osan. Our unit was moved to Kunsan by train in early 53. My unit Co B was assigned to rebuild the rock crusher and asphalt plant. I was also the first shirt for a time. I don't remember any names, just faces. Age does take it's toll. I spent another 28 years in the air force and retired in 1980. Loved every minute of it. Was also in vietnam from 1968-69. was also in WWII on merchant ships in the south pacific/atlantic.
