Comments: I submitted an entry requesting information for my Grandfather, Jacob Baumgardner. The year was incorrect. When I saw his certificate of service, it said that he was in from Sept. 26, 1950 - Sept. 21, 1951. (not '49-50) He was in the 82nd AAA AWBMSP out of Ft. Bliss, Tx. D Battery, 5th armored division.

Comments: My Grandpa, JACOB BAUMGARDNER, is looking for the names of his "brothers" from his unit. He would also like to find out if any of them are still living. He said he knew a lot of them were killed "when getting off of the boat". He is looking for the 82nd AAA AW BN SP from '49 - '50 out of Ft. Bliss, TX. This is all of the info that he has given me. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

Comments: Hello, All my records were burned in St. Louis fire in 1972. US Army has no record of me doing active duty. I was in Basic training in Ft Carlson, Ft. Lewis and Ellison AFB in Fairbanks. They want me to rebuild my records of fifty (50) years ago. Will not accept what papers I have left.

I'm looking for anyone who knew him. He passed away 2 months ago. I miss hearing the stories of Korea. Anyone who knew him, would like to hear from you. Thanks. His loving daughter, Dianne

Comments: I was a member of the 82nd AAA at Fort Lewis, Wa in 1954 and 1955, after it returned from Korea. We were never told anything about the 82nd's experiences in Korea, but I have since been in contact with some of the men who were there and am very proud to have been a member of that unit.

I would like very much to hear from any others like myself who were with the 82nd at Ft Lewis in '54 and '55.

Comments: Looking for anyone that may have known my uncle - SGT Robert (Bobby) Trotman, from Boston, Massachusetts. Information I have indicates he was in A Btry, 82nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery (Automatic Weapons)Battalion. Was at Kunu-ri and probably participated in the withdrawal from the Chongechon River, south to Sunchon, where he was captured, on December 1, 1950. Bobby ended up at a holding area at the Pukchin-Tarigol Valley where he died on December 31, 1950.

Comments: Dad survived Korea but passed away from Lung Cancer in 1990. I remember some of what he told me about the war but never asked questions until too late. I'm trying to put together a personal history for his grandkids and rest of family. I would appreciate any info from anyone that served on his crew. Also info on how his M19(I think but possibly M16)was lost in the Gauntlet and what happened then. Thank You.

Comments: I am writing for my father who desires info regarding his older brother, Justus P. Gallus. Like many of the brave soldiers mentioned here, he has not been recovered and we know nothing of the circumstances surrounding his death. We have contributed blood for the mDNA id, should his remains be discovered before my father dies. Could there possibly be anyone who reads these BBS who knew Justus? Please contact me if you are out there. Thanks to everyone who has given so selflessly, their life, or health, for their buddies and families, to live in a free country. God Bless

"D" 82nd AAA and was reported captured in Feb. 1951 and died in the Saun Bean camp in Mar. or April of that year. I am looking for anyone who was there and might be able to confirm his passing. I have only recently received that information from the DOD & DPMO. However there seems to be some question as to confermation. After 50 years I still want to know. Thank you all for your contribution to freedom which we all know is not free!
