We lived there from 1963-1965 when my husband was with the Army Signal Corps at Camp Drake. We loved living there. Does anyone have any recent pictures of this area? Any information on Momote would be appreciated.

Comments: My dad, Riley Kendall, of Valdosta, GA, was a legal liaison officer at Camp Drake Replacement Depot in Tokyo, from approx. 1950 - 1952. He was involved with processing many soldiers going to Korea. He taught classes on the preparation of wills, etc. My mother and I joined him there and lived first at a palace which had been divided into apartments, and then at Momote Village. We would love any information concerning these places, or contacts with anyone who might remember us!

Comments: Believe it or not, members of MacArthur's Honor Guard still gather every two years for a reunion, tell lies, hash over old girlfriends, etc. This year we will be meeting in Las VegasNV at Riviera Hotel, Sept 28-Oct 2, 2003. Our members include men who helped activate the unit in Manila in 1945, up to men who were in Tokyo when the general left. We even have some old (very old) houseboys and snack bar workers. Contact Maurice Howe at maurice@pronetisp.net.

I am looking to connect with ALL former members, Army, Navy, Marine and
Air Force. I do have many photos of our service functions, i.e.
inspections, formations, etc. and would like to share them (@ no cost
naturally).
This unit originated with General of the Army Douglas MacArthur as his
special security unit and continued through ( when I was there) General
John Hull.
This was a Multi-Service Unit, all Branches of Service, Army 2 Platoons,
Air Force Platoon, and Nav/Marine Platoon. This unit served as security
for the Far East Commanding General, Headquarters Security, Did special
parades and formations for visiting dignitaries, such as Sect'ty of
Defense Wilson, Under-Secty of the Navy and foreign Generals and
Admirals. Security for the Generals House was also an area of assigned
responsibility.
I do have a Roster of Army Personnel to start this off, but I would like
to attempt to reach more than the 12 that I have already reached.
I do have the Crests, and the 2 variations of Shoulder Insignias with
Honor Guard scrolls available.
I do have about a dozen contact names and phone #s, including our former
1st Sgt. Beardsley.

He asked if I could find anything on the internet regarding this. He

several searches, including the Army's page, but can't seem to find
anything under the Far East Command. Do you know where I could find
anything for him.
