Comments: I was in the 811th from April 52 to Oct 52. C Co was re-surfacing the runway at K-16 (near Seoul), and running the rock quarry between K-14(Kimpo). H & S Co was at Yong Dong Po, and B Co was working on the airfield at Kimpo. I'm not sure where A Co. was then. I would like to reminisce with anyone who was in the unit during that time, and also learn about the prior and subsequent history of the 811th. I also was in the 1903rd EAB at K-l from Nov 51 to Apr. 52.

The 811th was in the follow up group involved in the invasion at Inchon.
They were also involved in the rebuilding of Seoul City Airbase and the
construction of Kimpo Airbase. I was a surveyor with the outfit assigned
to Headquarters Co. from Sept. 1952 to Nov. 1953. In addition to the
Fields (K14 Kimpo, & K16 Seoul City Air Base, the outfit constructed
and maintained the oil tanks at Inchon.
The outfit was cited and written up in particular for its work at
Kimpo. If I can find it, I will send a copy of the write up.

My father served in the 811th Avn Eng Bn, Alpha Co. I am trying
to find out some information about my father's old unit and maybe find
some of his old buddy's. I am a Drill Sergeant at Ft. Sill, OK.
I have some of his old paperwork and pictures, but my dad can't tell me
much, he has had a stroke and cannot speak. If you have any information
it sure would be helpful. You can email at estep@sirinet.net or my
