("Buzz") Buckner Jr. passed away in 1976, back when I was a teenager -- which is prety much long before most kids start really wondering and asking about their parents' lives before we were born. The only connections I have to his service in Korea are some old photos from when he was there and a handmade, hand-engraved brass belt buckle ("U.S. Army 809th Korea 52 53"). If there's anyone out there who might've known my dad, please contact me via e-mail. I'd really like to know about some of your recollections of him and things as they were when you were in Korea. On a (partial) report on Operation "Dragoon" I fund 809th and 817th Aviation Battalions landed in CAMEL zone to build airstrips at place I know very well, at RAMATUELLE and at FREJUS (my town).
