Comments: I was assigned to the 808th in 1948 after Basic Training at Lackland AFB. I later transferred to another outfit. I understand the 808th went to Okinawa first and then Korea. I am looking for a good friend who I enlisted with and was with the 808th. I heard that he was discharged due to being underage (16) and sent home. He apparantly later reenlisted in the Regular Army and was with the 15th Field Artilliary in Korea and is MIA. His name was Kenneth P. Darden. Seeking any info on him. Email: Ldalewhip@aol.com

Comments: I am the son of Korean War U.S. Army veteran Charles G. Jochum Jr. who passed away in 1983. I am interested in contacting members of his unit to learn more about his service years as I was only 20 when he died and didn't have the foresight to ask about it when he was alive. He was in Korea from 2-Dec-52 until 1-Oct-53. A name of one of his Army buddies that I recall is Red Norris.

Under this Korean War subject, I would like to see the SCARWAF units
listed.
SCARWAF stands for Special Catogory Army With Air Force. We were Army
troops attached to the Air Force. Ususally Aviation Engineer Bn's.
My unit was the 808th Engineer Bn at K-8 (Kunsan) Airbase. We kept
the Air base up and running.

I am searching for someone on behalf of my father, who is a refugee of
the Korean War. During 1952 and 1953 he was located near the Kun San
air base and made friends with a man by the name of John J. Dillon.
This man was working with the air force in radio repair and
communications although he was in the army. My father's name is Kwang

This was a SCARWAF unit. I find that in civilian life, not many
individuals know what that meant. I usually tell them that it was "an
underwater mess kit repair battalion."
