RICHARD BOWLER wrote on July 28, 2011 City and State: GRANBURY TX Unit: 8086 SPECIAL FORCES (LEOPARD BASE) Service or Relationship: AIR FORCE VETERAN Comments: Arrived on PY-Do on an LST early spring 1951 with 12 other members of unit. Supplied "Donkey" units during 1951 with ammunition and explosives. Headquarters was in islands only school house. One day MSgt Hanson and I blew every window out of the front of the school house while disposing of some captured enemy land mines in a rice paddy across the road from the school house. Rotated home in Dec 51 with several other members of the group. After College went back on active duty with the Air Force and retired in 1984. Unfortunately, my memory is slipping and many details are now lost to me. Keywords:

I have photos of other soldiers he served with if any relatives are interested: Frank Triska, Judson Trague, Donald Backman,Martin Kushnick, Jerry Pennman, Charlie Cambell, Jim Miller, Dom Iandoll or Iandoli, Stan Blum, Carl White, Elwin Shephard, Bill Riley, Johnnie Burnett. And some with just last names: Barney, Manning, Rosey. Most are from 1952, except for Wiley T Captain Jan 1953. If no relatives claim these does anyone have an idea of where to donate for historical purposes.
